Shettima Urges SWDC to Innovate and Collaborate for Growth

On Wednesday, Vice-President Kashim Shettima met with the management of the South West Development Commission (SWDC), led by board chairman Senator Olubunmi Adetunmbi, at the State House in Abuja. Shettima praised President Bola Tinubu for his foresight in establishing regional development commissions aimed at harnessing regional strengths for Nigeria's prosperity.

He stressed that the SWDC must prioritize innovation, collaboration, and integrity in its operations, stating that success would be measured by tangible improvements such as quality roads, job creation, and community transformation. Shettima encouraged the commission to work closely with state governments, traditional institutions, and the private sector, highlighting that development thrives on collaboration rather than competition.

He insisted that all projects should be transparent and capable of attracting private investment, reiterating the Federal Government's support for genuine regional development efforts.
