CITN to Host Tax Reform Conference in Abuja, May 2026

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) is set to hold its 28th annual tax conference from May 11 to May 15, 2026, in Abuja. The conference, themed "Tax Reform: Global Relevance and Positioning Nigeria's Tax System for a Sustainable Future," aims to provide a platform for robust policy dialogue among professionals.

CITN President Innoc Chinyere Ohagwa emphasized the critical timing of the conference, coinciding with Nigeria's evolving fiscal framework and ongoing tax reforms. The event will gather policymakers, tax administrators, and leaders from the private sector to examine key issues shaping the country's tax system.

Major focuses will include evaluating the outcomes of the 2025 tax reform, aligning fiscal policies with enterprise growth, and enhancing public trust through improved tax administration. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is expected to declare the conference open, with attendance from various dignitaries, including state governors and federal ministers.
