Stanley Nwabali Leaves Chippa United After AFCON 2025

Stanley Nwabali, a 29-year-old goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, has clarified his decision to leave South African club Chippa United after the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Morocco. Nwabali delivered outstanding performances throughout the tournament, contributing to Nigeria's third-place finish, including a crucial role in the penalty shootout against Liverpool legend Dure.

Despite his success, he expressed unhappiness with Chippa United during the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League season. Nwabali confirmed that he is open to playing anywhere in the world following the mutual termination of his contract with the Gqeberha-based club.

He emphasized that personal happiness is a priority in his professional career. Currently, Nwabali is weighing his next move as a free agent, with clubs in Saudi Arabia and Europe reportedly monitoring his situation, including Al Ettifaq and the English Championship outfit Queen Park Rangers.
