Ondo Amotekun Boss Advocates for State Policing Solution

The chairman of the Amotekun Corps in Ondo State, Adeley, has called for the establishment of state policing as a viable solution to Nigeria's increasing security challenges. Speaking in Okitipupa, he highlighted the effectiveness of decentralized policing, which allows local security structures to better identify and apprehend criminals.

The Amotekun Corps has reportedly arrested 500 suspects in the past year, with ongoing investigations uncovering links to criminal activities in the area. Recently, two suspects, Samson Osow (28) and Ayo Oguneso (22), were arrested for their involvement in a burglary that occurred in the home of former Speaker Akindel Jumok.

The suspects were identified and apprehended after stolen mobile phones were recovered. Adeley reaffirmed the need for a state police structure to enhance grassroots intelligence gathering and ensure successful implementation when adopted.

He commended the efforts of the Amotekun Corps in combating crime in Ondo State.
