Cheaper Petrol in Sight as Dangote Receives 4,000 CNG Trucks for Nationwide Distribution

Dangote Petroleum Refinery Petrochemicals has received 4,000 compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks at the Apapa Port, marking a significant step in reshaping Nigeria's fuel logistics. The fleet, valued as one of the largest investments in the country's downstream sector, aims to reduce transportation costs, improve supply efficiency, and ultimately make petrol more affordable for Nigerians.

The trucks are expected to cut transportation costs, leading to lower pump prices and helping to curb smuggling while revitalizing dormant filling stations. The initiative is projected to benefit 42 million Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by reducing operating costs and boosting profitability.

The project also supports environmental sustainability by reducing emissions. With the nationwide distribution network set to go live on August 15, industry experts believe this could be a turning point in Nigeria's downstream petroleum sector, stabilizing fuel prices and easing inflationary pressures.
