Ex-BBNaija Star Claims STIs Can Cause Mental Problems

Former Big Brother Naija contestant Faith Adewal, now a medical doctor, asserted on a podcast that STIs can result in mental health issues, citing neurosyphilis as a specific example. Adewal highlighted the association between the third stage of syphilis, known as neurosyphilis, and mental health problems.

She emphasized that many mental health patients suffer from conditions stemming from prolonged STIs. Adewal discussed this topic on the "Clarity Zone" podcast, where she was a guest alongside co-host Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, popularly known as Nedu Wazobia.

Neurosyphilis, affecting the brain and cognitive processes, was identified as a factor contributing to mental health challenges faced by individuals with STIs.
