Rufai Oseni Critiques Atiku Abubakar's Zoning Hypocrisy

During a broadcast on Arise TV, anchor Rufai Oseni criticized former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for what he described as hypocrisy regarding zoning within Nigeria's political system. Oseni argued that Atiku appears to support zoning when it benefits his opposition but opposes it when it does not favor him.

He recalled Atiku's involvement in a legal battle concerning zoning during the 2011 electoral cycle, where Atiku went to court against then-President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure the People's Democratic Party (PDP) adhered to its zoning formula. Although the court declined jurisdiction, it acknowledged the existence of the PDP's zoning arrangement.

Oseni questioned Atiku's integrity, stating that his stance on zoning reflects self-interest rather than principle, particularly when he previously supported zoning arrangements that favored his political ambitions.
