It highlights that no incumbent president has ever been defeated by an opposition candidate in Nigeria's history, suggesting that the opposition's emotional arguments lack realism. The statement further argues that the moral argument for a southern presidency is weakened by the historical context, noting that the South has held presidential power for approximately 18 years compared to 10 years for the North since the Fourth Republic.

The Atiku camp warns against reducing aspirations to mere political bargaining and calls for a credible coalition capable of defeating the incumbent president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, rather than relying on romanticized strategies.
