Ijaw Women Urge Fairness in Diezani's UK Trial Coverage

Ijaw women, led by Dr. Timiebi Koripamo-Agari, have expressed their discontent regarding the sensational coverage of the judicial trial of former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, currently taking place in the United Kingdom.

The trial, which is being prosecuted by the UK-based National Crime Agency (NCA) for allegations of bribery and corruption, has drawn significant media attention in Nigeria. The Ijaw women, speaking from Abuja, urged that the judicial process should not be treated as a public spectacle.

They emphasized the importance of upholding justice in a lawful manner, free from media sensationalism that could skew public opinion. Godknows Igali, the Ijaw women's ambassador, reiterated that their stance is not to defend or condemn any individual but to advocate for the principles of justice during the ongoing proceedings in the UK.
