Atiku Abubakar Criticizes Babachir Lawal's Ethnic Stigmatization

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, criticized former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, for promoting ethnic prejudice for political gain. Atiku's statement, issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, condemned Lawal's recent public attacks as devoid of factual evidence and inflammatory.

He accused Lawal of attempting to stigmatize the Fulani ethnic group while ignoring the actions of a few criminal elements. Atiku emphasized that every ethnic group in Nigeria should not be blamed for the actions of a few individuals, which could further widen existing fault lines in the country already grappling with insecurity and economic hardship.

He also pointed out the contradiction in Lawal's public stance, questioning his claims of being a victim of political conspiracy while simultaneously seeking political power. Atiku reaffirmed his commitment to national unity and solidarity, particularly in the face of violence affecting various communities.
