Babachir Lawal Critiques Atiku on Terrorism Victims

Babachir Lawal, the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, criticized Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, during an appearance on Channel Television's Politics Today. Lawal accused Atiku of showing no sympathy for victims of terrorism, particularly citing the brutal murder of Christian girl Deborah Samuel in Sokoto State, who was killed over allegations of blasphemy.

He stated that Atiku had not condemned the incident or other acts of violence, including the actions of kidnappers and herdsmen. Lawal expressed disappointment that Atiku had issued a press release condemning the murder but later withdrew his apology.

He also noted that Atiku had remained silent on threats made by an imam against those who speak against Prophet Muhammad and had not condemned recent violence in Oyo State, suggesting a pattern of silence on critical issues.
