APC's Niboro Urges Wike to Focus on Grassroots Support

Ima Niboro, a spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, called on Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and APC governors to cease public exchanges and concentrate on grassroots political engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections. Niboro made these remarks during an appearance on Arise Television’s The Morning Show.

The call comes amid tensions regarding the mobilization of support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election, particularly following Wike's promotion of the "Rainbow Coalition," which aims to garner support for Tinubu without requiring other parties to abandon their candidates. APC governors, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, publicly rejected this coalition, asserting that they would not support any political arrangement that could undermine the APC or its candidates.

Wike responded by questioning the political strength of the APC governors and reiterated his commitment to supporting Tinubu while allowing other parties to field their candidates.
