Sule Lamido's Son Loses Supreme Court Appeal Over $40,000 Cash Forfeiture

Aminu Sule Lamido, son of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, lost his appeal at the Supreme Court seeking to overturn the forfeiture of $40,000 he failed to declare at Kano airport. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had arraigned Aminu for failing to declare the funds while traveling to Egypt in 2014.

Aminu was convicted in 2015 and ordered to forfeit 25% of the undeclared foreign currency. The Supreme Court upheld the lower court's decision, dismissing Aminu's appeal as lacking merit.
