Supreme Court Orders Trial of Ex-Gov Lamido and Sons Over N1.35bn Fraud

The Supreme Court has ordered the trial of former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu, over alleged involvement in money laundering amounting to approximately N1.35 billion. The court upheld a forfeiture of $40,000 found with Aminu, who failed to declare the money while traveling to Egypt.

Aminu was convicted in July 2015 for money laundering and subsequently lost his appeal. The case will now return to the Federal High Court for trial to continue.
