Supreme Court Orders Continuation of Sule Lamido's Fraud Trial

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has directed the Federal High Court in Abuja to proceed with the trial of ex-governor Sule Lamido and his sons, Aminu Mustapha Lamido and Aminu Wada Abubakar, for their involvement in a ₦1.35 billion fraud case. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused Lamido of abusing his office as governor between 2007 and 2015 to launder funds received as kickbacks from companies awarded contracts by the Jigawa State government.

The apex court's decision overturned a previous ruling that dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds.
