Nwaiwu Replaces Injured Bassey for Super Eagles Friendlies

Chibuik Nwaiwu has been selected to replace Calvin Bassey in the Super Eagles squad for international friendlies against Iran and Jordan. Bassey, a central defender, is sidelined due to a back injury he sustained during Fulham's 3-1 victory over Burnley at Craven Cottage last weekend.

This marks the first time the 22-year-old Nwaiwu has been invited to join the Super Eagles. Nwaiwu currently plays for Trabzonspor, having previously been with the Austrian club Wolfsberg since January, and he is noted for scoring two goals and providing one assist in 10 league appearances for the Turkish club.
