Super Eagles Squad Announced for Iran, Jordan Friendlies

The head coach of the Super Eagles, Eric Chelle, has announced a 23-man squad for international friendlies against Iran and Jordan, scheduled for March 27 and March 31, 2024, respectively. Notably, Victor Osimhen, Stanlei Nwabali, and Ola Aina have been left out of the squad.

Osimhen's absence is attributed to a suspected injury and his poor performance in the UEFA Champions League against Liverpool, where he was substituted in the 46th minute. Nwabali is currently without a club following a mutual agreement with Chippa United, while Aina is back to full fitness but struggling to regain form after an injury that affected his participation in AFCON 2025.

The squad includes regulars such as Wilfred Ndidi and Alex Iwobi, alongside new faces like Emmanuel Oluwasegun and Philip Otel. The matches will take place in Antalya, Turkey, and Amman, Jordan, with the first match kicking off at 4 PM local time.
