The Super Falcons secured a crucial 1-0 victory against Zambia in their second match of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations held in Morocco, following a disappointing 2-3 loss to Malawi in their opening game. The win was vital for Nigeria's hopes of advancing to the quarter-finals.

Veteran striker Asisat Oshoala scored the decisive goal in the 8th minute after a successful press against Zambia’s goalkeeper, Hazel Nali. The match took a challenging turn for Nigeria when center-back Oluwatosin Demehin was shown a straight red card after a VAR review upgraded her initial yellow card for a challenge.
