Super Falcons to Train in UK for 2026 WAFCON Preparation

The Super Falcons are set to embark on a training camp in the United Kingdom from May 23 to 28, 2026, as part of their preparations for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). This camp is designed to gather pace ahead of the tournament and is expected to include at least one friendly match.

Head coach Justin Madugu stated that this initiative is crucial for keeping the squad active during the quiet March window, which was previously disrupted due to failed plans for friendly matches. Regular players are anticipated to miss this trip due to club commitments but are expected to rejoin the squad during the next FIFA window from June 7 to 14.

Madugu also mentioned challenges in securing friendly matches, as rival coaches often resist collaboration. The Super Falcons aim to defend their title after lifting a record 10th WAFCON trophy in Morocco last year.
