Supreme Court to Hear ADC Leadership Appeal on April 14

The Supreme Court will hear an appeal concerning the leadership dispute within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) on April 14. This follows a judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal on March 12.

Mark, who is involved in the dispute, is seeking an order to restrain the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the current leadership of the party until the appeal is determined. Mark's lawyer, Realwan Okpanachi, filed the appeal on March 16, requesting the court to maintain the status quo and prevent any alterations to the party's leadership structure pending the outcome of the appeal.

The appeal was prompted by a previous judgment that Mark argues should be executed, and he is urging the court to ensure that INEC does not recognize the current national officers of the ADC unless the appeal is granted. The case is scheduled for hearing in Abuja, coinciding with earlier proceedings set by the Federal High Court.
