Restaurant Owner Killed by Kidnappers in Edo State

On Saturday night at approximately 9 PM, a restaurant owner was shot dead by suspected kidnappers in Edo while returning home to restock supplies for his outlet in Idumebo. The assailants reportedly attempted to abduct him, but he resisted, leading to his fatal shooting.

This incident has sparked significant tension in the area, with reports of planned protests circulating on social media. In response, security operations, including personnel from the Edo State Police Command and the Edo State Security Corps, were deployed strategically in Ekpoma to maintain law and order.

Mr. Joel Aidamebor, coordinating the Edo State Special Security Squad, and Mr.

Noal Amiolemen confirmed the incident. Following the murder, Governor Okpebholo directed security agencies to investigate the killing and ensure that justice is served.

The Edo State Police Command's spokesman, ASP Eno Ikoedem, confirmed ongoing efforts to apprehend the suspects involved.
