Gunmen Kill Driver, Abduct Passengers in Edo Attack

On Sunday, gunmen ambushed a transport vehicle in Edo, resulting in the death of the driver and the abduction of several passengers. The attack occurred as the vehicle was traveling from Lagos towards the eastern part of Nigeria.

The assailants opened fire, forcing the driver to halt, and he was reportedly killed on the spot. Passengers were then dragged into the surrounding bush.

A viral video narrated the incident, highlighting the gunmen's actions. ASP Eno Ikoedem, a spokesperson for the police, confirmed the incident and stated that a manhunt has been launched for the suspects.

She indicated that operations to rescue the abducted passengers and apprehend those responsible have commenced within the jurisdiction of the Iguobazuwa police division, with directives from the Commissioner of Police to support ongoing bush combing efforts.
