Thugs Disrupt APC Primary Election in Zamfara
On November 2, suspected thugs disrupted the APC primary election in Zamfara by attacking the Namoda Model Primary School and the Galadima Dangaladima Ward polling unit located in front of the Emir’s Palace. This violence forced voters and residents to flee for safety, triggering panic in the area.
As a result, many voters abandoned the polling centers while waiting for the arrival of INEC officials, who had not arrived by 11:30 a.m. Prior to the attack, Malam Sanusi Kaura alerted a Daily Trust correspondent about the potential disruption.
The incident also involved physical fights among the thugs, resulting in one person being seriously injured. The two senatorial aspirants involved in this primary election were the incumbent Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura, aligned with Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle, and Senator Tijjani Yahaya Kaura, associated with Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
Both aspirants hail from the same political ward in Kaura Namoda metropolis.
