Suspected vote buyer nabbed with N25.9m in Kaduna

Shehu Aliyu Patangi was arrested in Kaduna with N25.9 million in suspected vote-buying activities at a popular hotel along Turunku Road. The police confirmed that the recovered cash was intended to influence eligible voters.

Patangi admitted to the crime and asked for leniency. The Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, praised the cooperation among security agencies in making the arrest and emphasized the importance of safeguarding the electoral process.

He warned that anyone, regardless of social status, caught trying to undermine the election would face the full force of the law. The Kaduna Police Command is committed to ensuring a peaceful and fair election, urging residents to vote without fear.

Maximum security measures will be in place for the election.
