‘Suspension Of Raw Shea Exports Is A Win For Farmers’ – Tinubu

The suspension of raw shea exports has been deemed a victory for farmers, according to a report by Tinubu. The temporary ban was ordered by the Presidential Food Systems Coordinating Unit to secure the supply for local processors, create jobs, and protect the value chain.

Tinubu highlighted that 95% of shea pickers are women and emphasized the need to expand processing capacity to ensure lasting prosperity. Vice President Kashim Shettima is working with stakeholders to rapidly increase processing capabilities.

The decision to halt raw shea exports is seen as a positive step towards supporting local farmers and boosting the economy.
