Sweden Sets Conditions for Working Holiday Visa for Youth

Sweden's Migration Agency has announced six conditions for young foreigners seeking a working holiday visa, applicable only to citizens from Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, and South Korea. Eligible applicants must be aged between 18 and 30, hold a valid passport, and demonstrate financial readiness by having at least SEK 15,000 upon arrival to cover initial living costs.

They must also possess a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase one and maintain valid health insurance throughout their stay. However, Australian citizens are uniquely exempt from the health insurance requirement, although they must still meet the other criteria.

Citizens from countries not included in these agreements, which largely encompasses African nations, are ineligible for this visa and must seek alternative pathways to work or live in Sweden.
