Taraba State Confirms Bird Flu Outbreak, Implements Containment Measures

Taraba State's Ministry of Agriculture, led by Professor Nichola Namessan, confirmed a Bird Flu outbreak during a press conference in Jalingo. The outbreak in Wukari prompted swift action, including sample testing and the declaration of avian influenza virus presence.

Measures such as bans on bird movement and live bird markets were imposed to prevent further spread. The public was advised to report bird deaths and flu symptoms, with no human infections reported yet.
