Taraba State government has imposed a ban on the movement of live birds and poultry products in Ibbi and Wukari local government areas following an outbreak of avian influenza (bird flu). The ban was announced by Prof.

Nichola Namesan from the state's Commission of Agriculture and Food Security. Dr.

Francis Nathan, the Director of Veterinary Services, cautioned the public against consuming sick birds to prevent the spread of the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus. The outbreak was confirmed in Jubu, Wukari LGA, prompting rapid response measures to contain the disease and protect public health.
