Taraba Aspirant Bwacha Critiques Rising State Debt

Sen. Emmanuel Bwacha, a governorship aspirant from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, has raised alarms regarding the state's increasing debt profile, which has escalated to 237 billion naira in 2023.

He criticized the current administration led by Governor Agbu Kefa, claiming it has inflicted significant hardship on the people of Taraba. Bwacha expressed his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election, citing the alarming rise in debt as a major concern for the state's leadership and governance.

He lamented the decline in the state's progress since the tragic plane crash of late Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai in October 2012, which he believes marked the beginning of a downward trend in the state's development. Bwacha emphasized the need for a clear break from the current system to focus on meaningful structural development that would improve the lives of the people rather than cosmetic projects.
