Taraba State Reports 2 Cases of Cancer Annually, Urgent Intervention Needed

The Commissioner of Health in Taraba State, Dr. Godiya Buma, revealed that the state reports two cases of breast and cervical cancer each year at general hospitals.

A campaign to raise awareness about these diseases was launched in Jalingo, the state capital, in collaboration with the Medical Women's Association of Nigeria (MWAN) and the North East Development Commission (NEDC). The initiative aims to emphasize the importance of early detection and treatment, especially for women above 40 years old.

Dr. Buma highlighted the significant impact of cancer on patients and their families, stressing the need for preventive measures and accessible healthcare services in the state.
