20 Illegal Miners Arrested in Taraba by Task Force

The Anti-Illegal Mining Task Force arrested 20 suspected illegal miners in Taraba State over the weekend. The chairman of the task force, SP Emmanuel Jamu, stated that the arrests were made based on credible intelligence while the suspects were en route to an illegal mining site.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects originated from Zamfara State and had traveled to Taraba to conduct unauthorized mining operations. SP Emmanuel Jamu confirmed that the suspects are currently in custody and will be handed over to the Taraba State Police Command for further investigation and potential prosecution.

Additionally, items recovered from the suspects are being documented as part of the ongoing investigation.
