Task Force Arrests 14 Illegal Miners in Taraba State

On Sunday, the Anti-Illegal Mining Task Force apprehended 14 suspected illegal miners and four Toyota Hummer buses loaded with individuals from Bauchi, Gombe, and Zamfara states in Taraba State. The operation was led by SP Emmanuel Jamu, who stated that the suspects were caught based on credible intelligence while en route to an illegal mining site in Gangtu village, located in the Bali local government area of Taraba State.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects traveled to Taraba to engage in unauthorized mining activities. The suspects are currently in custody and will be handed over to the Taraba State Police Command for further investigation before being returned to their respective states of origin.

SP Emmanuel Jamu reiterated the commitment of the task force to eliminate all forms of illegal mining in the state, warning that anyone found participating in such activities will face legal consequences.
