TAU Makes Arabic, Chinese, French Mandatory for Students

Tansian University (TAU) has introduced a new requirement for its students, mandating proficiency in four languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, and English, regardless of their area of discipline. This announcement was made by Vice Chancellor Professor Franscisca Oladipo during the graduation ceremony held on the weekend at the university's main campus in Oko Ires, Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State.

A total of 967 students were newly matriculated, consisting of 939 undergraduates and 29 postgraduates, with the latter being the first set admitted under the university's National Universities Commission (NUC) approved postgraduate program. The university aims to mold its graduates into global citizens who can demonstrate fluency in these languages, which are considered essential skills in today’s job market.

Additionally, TAU ranks 4th among 13 institutions in Kwara State and 6th among 168 private universities in Nigeria, and it has secured 100% accreditation for its first set of students in the MBB Radiography and Radio Science programs.
