Tax Ombud Dr. John Nwabuez Leads Efforts to Boost Tax Compliance in Nigeria

Tax Ombud Dr. John Nwabuez, in collaboration with the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reform led by Chairman Taiwo Oyedele, recently convened a meeting in Abuja.

The meeting included key figures like Olusegun Adesokan from the Joint Revenue Board. Dr.

Nwabuez highlighted the Tax Ombud's role in mediating tax-related issues independently to ensure fairness and transparency in Nigeria's tax system. The initiative aims to enhance the investment climate and competitiveness in Nigeria, aligning with the administration's agenda.

Dr. Nwabuez emphasized the Tax Ombud's engagement with organizations like the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria to provide taxpayers with adequate information on their rights and obligations within the tax regime.

Oyedele stressed the critical role of the Tax Ombud in ensuring the government's commitment to fair tax practices and protecting taxpayers' rights.
