TCN Engages Kaduna Leaders to Combat Vandalism and Encroachment

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has initiated a campaign in Kaduna to engage traditional leaders in efforts to curb vandalism and encroachment on transmission line rights-of-way (RoW). The campaign, led by Engr.

Nasir Mansur Fada, the General Manager of TCN's Kaduna region, included visits to prominent traditional leaders such as the first Sarkin Mando, Alhaji Sani Musa, and the district head of Rigasa community, Arch Aminu Moham Idri. The objective of these sensitization visits is to strengthen collaboration with local communities to address the increasing safety risks posed by illegal developments beneath high tension transmission lines.

Engr. Fada expressed serious concerns regarding the construction of houses and shops directly under these lines, which pose significant health and safety hazards, including the risk of electrocution.

He cautioned individuals against encroaching on the RoW, emphasizing that TCN would not be liable for any accidents resulting from such actions, which could undermine the stability and reliability of electricity supply across the region.
