TCN Seeks Government Intervention to Address Right-of-Way Challenges in Abuja Energy Projects

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) conducted an inspection tour of crucial energy projects in Abuja, highlighting concerns over persistent right-of-way challenges delaying the completion of vital power infrastructure in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Led by Olugbenga Ajiboy, the TCN team visited projects like the Kuje 132/33kV transmission substation and the Lugbe West Main 330/132/33kV transmission substation, assessing progress and identifying obstacles.

The tour aimed to ensure timely project completion and enhance electricity supply in key areas like Lugbe, Idu, Karimo, and Gwarinpa. Challenges such as space constraints and resistance from individuals along transmission corridors were noted, urging government intervention for resolution.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) also plays a crucial role in the distribution of power from these substations to communities like Dawaki, Gwarinpa, and Duts Alhaji. The completion of projects like the Abuja Feed Scheme is expected to significantly boost power capacity upon resolution of right-of-way issues.
