TCN Transfers Temporary Control Center to NISO in Abuja

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) officially handed over a temporary national control center to the Nigerian Independent System Operator (NISO) in Gwagwalada, Abuja. This facility, equipped with a newly acquired SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) telecommunication system, will serve as a temporary operational base for NISO to oversee grid operations efficiently and reliably until a permanent national control center is completed.

Engr. Sule Ahm Abdulaziz, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TCN, described the handover as a significant milestone in strengthening Nigeria's electricity transmission infrastructure.

Engr. Amini Tahir, Project Coordinator, noted that the completion of the facility marks the beginning of a new phase in grid management.

Engr. Abdu Moham Bello, Managing Director of NISO, expressed gratitude to TCN for the project delivery, emphasizing the importance of the SCADA system for operational efficiency.

The World Bank provided sustained support throughout the project, reaffirming TCN's commitment to collaboration and innovation in the power sector.
