TCN Intensifies Repairs on Kainji-Birnin Kebbi Line

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has intensified its efforts to restore the 330kV Kainji-Birnin Kebbi transmission line following the collapse of tower T367 at Yauri in Kebbi State. TCN reported that significant progress has been made at the site, including the complete dismantling and decommissioning of the damaged tower.

The company stated that the conductors and skywire have been properly aligned in preparation for the next phase of restoration work. An Emergency Restoration System tower has been transported to the site and is ready for installation.

Following this, cable stringing and associated works will commence to restore the affected transmission line. TCN's engineers and technical personnel are actively engaged at the site to expedite the restoration process and return the line to service.

The company has appealed to electricity consumers and stakeholders affected by the incident for patience and understanding, assuring them that all necessary efforts are being made for a swift restoration.
