TCN Engages Kaduna Leaders on Vandalism and Safety Risks

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has initiated a campaign in Kaduna to engage traditional leaders regarding the issues of vandalism and encroachment on transmission line rights-of-way (RoW). The campaign, led by Engr.

Nasir Mansur Fada, the General Manager of TCN's Kaduna region, included visits to key locations and discussions with prominent traditional leaders such as Alhaji Sani Musa, the first Sarkin Mando, and Arch Aminu Moham Idri, the district head of the Rigasa community. The meetings aimed to strengthen collaboration with local communities to address the increasing safety risks posed by illegal developments beneath high tension transmission lines.

Engr. Fada highlighted the serious health and safety hazards, including the risk of electrocution, associated with constructing houses and shops directly under these lines.

He cautioned individuals against encroaching on the RoW, emphasizing that TCN would not be liable for any accidents resulting from such actions, which could undermine the stability and reliability of bulk electricity supply across the region.
