Team Nigeria Para-Powerlifting Athletes Make History at World Championships in Cairo

Team Nigeria's Para-Powerlifting athletes have departed for the historic 11th World Para Powerlifting Championships in Cairo, Egypt, from October 9 to 18. This marks the first time the prestigious event is hosted on African soil, signifying a significant milestone for the sport on the continent.

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has expressed confidence in the team's preparedness and determination to uphold Nigeria's reputation in global para powerlifting. The first batch of the Nigerian contingent has already left, with the second batch scheduled to depart today.

The NSC reiterated its comprehensive support for the athletes, emphasizing the government's commitment to promoting inclusivity and excellence in sports.
