Channels TV Journalist Kani Ben Laid to Rest in Adamawa

Kani Ben, a 44-year-old cameraman for Channels Television, was buried in his hometown of Kangali, Girei Local Government Area, Adamawa State, after sustaining injuries from a road accident while on official duty. The solemn funeral service took place on February 15, 2026, at the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria, Yola, attended by hundreds, including family, colleagues, and dignitaries.

Kingslei Uranta, the General Manager of Channels Television, led the delegation to honor the fallen journalist. Church leaders praised Ben for his dedication to his Christian faith and his exemplary character, highlighting his active involvement in church life.

The Bishop of Abuja Diocese testified to Ben's commitment to community development in the Northeast. Kani Ben, born in 1982, spent nine years at Channels Television, earning respect for his courage and commitment to journalism.

He is survived by his wife and two children, and his contributions to storytelling in Nigeria will be remembered.
