MKO Abiola’s Wife Laid to Rest in Lagos: Tribute to Pioneering Journalist

Dr. Doyinsola Abiola, wife of late Chief MKO Abiola, was laid to rest in Lagos after a solemn funeral service at the Cathedral Church of Christ.

The funeral service, officiated by Ven. Henry Adelegan and Canon Suru Aboaba, celebrated her groundbreaking contributions to journalism in Nigeria.

She was hailed for her achievements as the first female holder of journalism, editor of a national daily, and the first woman to lead a national newspaper. Bishop Pelu Johnson reflected on her legacy of restoration and hope, noting her trailblazing role in Nigeria's democratic struggle.

The ceremony paid tribute to her life and inspired generations.
