Doyin Abiola Laid to Rest in Lagos: Trailblazing Journalist Remembered

Doyin Abiola, a pioneering journalist and wife of late Chief MKO Abiola, was laid to rest in Lagos. The funeral service at Cathedral Church of Christ Marina was attended by dignitaries, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Diocesan Bishop of Lagos West highlighted Doyin's groundbreaking achievements in journalism, becoming Nigeria's first female editor of a national daily. Her role in the struggle for democracy through Concord Newspapers was also praised.

The ceremony marked the conclusion of a week-long commemoration of her life and legacy, celebrating her trailblazing contributions to Nigerian journalism and society.
