Nigerian Health Federation Advocates Technology-Driven Private Sector Innovation for Universal Health Coverage

The Healthcar Feder Nigeria (HFN) stresses the critical role of technology-driven private sector innovation in enhancing healthcare quality and affordability in Nigeria. Njide Ndili, President of HFN, highlighted the transformative capacity of the private sector in healthcare delivery with the right policy support.

The Federal Ministry of Health's recent decision to allocate federal tertiary hospitals to private organizations signifies the government's recognition of the value of private sector expertise. HFN is working with the Nation Health Insurance Authority to simplify enrollment processes through digital solutions, aiming to reduce out-of-pocket spending on healthcare.

Olufemi Akingbad, Executive Secretary of HFN, emphasized the need for synergy within the private healthcare sector to reduce costs and improve access to critical equipment like CT scan machines. Iren Nwaukwa, CEO of Infin Health, emphasized the pivotal role of technology in strengthening public-private partnerships and standardizing care delivery across Nigeria.
