Tems Leads Nigerian Artists in 2026 BET Awards Nominations

Tems has emerged as a leading figure in the 2026 BET Awards nominations, representing Nigeria with three nominations, including Best Female R&B Pop Artist. The prestigious American award show, established in 2001, celebrates outstanding achievements in black entertainment across various fields.

Tems is joined by fellow Nigerian artists Wizkid and Asake, who are jointly nominated for Best Group. Burna Boy has earned a nomination for Best Collaboration for his feature on Gunna's hit single from the 2025 album "Last Wun." The nominations reflect a strong presence of Nigerian artists in the music landscape, with Wizkid and Asake also recognized for their collaborative work on the joint EP "Real Vol 1." The awards ceremony is scheduled for Sunday, June 28, at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, hosted by comedian Druski, who will make history as the youngest host of the event.
