Tenant Arrested for Alleged Murder of Landlady in Gombi

In Gombi, a tenant named Bello Abubakar was arrested for the alleged murder of his landlady, Maryam Hassan, aged 38. The incident occurred on February 3, 2026, at 6 am in Kundulun Quarter.

The police, led by DSP Buhari Abdullahi, responded to a report of a woman found lying unconscious in a pool of blood with severe head injuries in front of her residence. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead.

Preliminary investigations led to the arrest of the suspect, Bello Abubakar, who resided in the same building as the victim. During the investigation, several exhibits were recovered from the suspect, including a pestle, a stool, a bucket, a shirt stained with blood, and a Redmi 15C mobile phone belonging to the deceased.

The suspect later confessed to the crime. The case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further discreet investigations.
