Zverev Advances to U.S. Open Semis After Defeating Van de Zandschulp

Alexander Zverev progressed to the semi-finals of the U.S. Open by defeating Dutch player Botic van de Zandschulp with a score of 6-2, 7-5, 6-1.

The match showcased Zverev's gradual improvement after a slow start in the tournament. He acknowledged his earlier struggles, stating, “I really didn’t play well” in the first two rounds but emphasized his ability to fight back in best-of-five set matches.

Zverev, who is 29 years old, noted that he is the only Grand Slam winner remaining in the men's draw and has reached the semi-finals at all four major tournaments this year. Despite an erratic start, including five double faults, he capitalized on van de Zandschulp's errors to secure the first set.

Zverev will next face Karen Khachanov in the semi-finals.
