Nigerian Lawyer Terence Vembe Joins IHF Arbitration Tribunal

Terence Vembe, a Nigerian lawyer and current Executive Director of the Commonwealth Handball Association, has been appointed as a member of the Arbitration Tribunal of the International Handball Federation (IHF). This appointment, effective April 9, 2026, was confirmed in a letter signed by IHF President Dr.

Hassan Moustafa. Vembe's selection follows a decision by the IHF Council, pursuant to a resolution from the IHF Congress, which authorized the council regarding the Arbitration Tribunal.

The tribunal serves as the highest appellate adjudicatory body for the IHF, handling appeals from the Arbitration Commission. Vembe has a rich background in handball, having played for Nigeria's national handball team and served in various capacities, including captain and coach for different teams.

He is also a founding partner at Anakerem Chamber Law Office and has experience in legal practice across civil and criminal litigation in Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
