Igbo Youths Dismiss Reports of Ohanaeze President's Alleged Call for Gun Ownership Amid Terrorism Concerns

Igbo youths, led by Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu, have rejected reports alleging that the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, John Mbata, called for Igbo youths to arm themselves against suspected terrorists in the South East. Okpalaezeukwu labeled the claims as malicious propaganda and urged the public to verify information before sharing to prevent the spread of fake news.

He emphasized that Mbata is a respected statesman with an impeccable character and condemned the fabrication as an attempt to mislead the public. The group urged security agencies to investigate and prosecute those behind the dissemination of false information, which could exacerbate the already delicate security situation in the region.
