Oyo Pupil Rescued After Two Months of Captivity

Taiwo, a pupil from Oriir Local Government Area in Oyo State, was rescued after spending nearly two months in captivity following her abduction during a school attack on May 15. In a recent interview shared by TVC News, Taiwo recounted her traumatic experience, revealing that she was subjected to physical abuse by her captors.

She was fed only garri without sugar and was punished whenever she inquired about her family. Taiwo described her fear upon seeing unfamiliar faces during her rescue, stating that she initially wanted to flee into the bush.

Rachael Alamu, a teacher among those rescued, disclosed that the abductors repeatedly beat younger children and forced the pupils to undertake dangerous treks through the forest at night to evade security operations. The rescue operation was coordinated by security agencies, with Bayo Onanuga, a special adviser to the president, announcing the successful rescue.
